Moroccanoil launches an Overnight Leave-in Mask on September 1, 2026, priced at $40 for 120 ml (4 fl. oz.), built on a bio-engineered vegan snail mucin the brand claims delivers up to 4x more hydration overnight.

The formula is pillow-safe, weightless and requires no rinsing. According to the company, hair is 3x easier to detangle by morning, with no residue left on hair or bedding. The mask reduces frizz, minimizes split ends and prevents tangles while the client sleeps.

The vegan mucin, inspired by Korean skincare's snail mucin category, replicates the healing and regenerative properties of the original ingredient from vegan sources, helping to seal the cuticle and lock in moisture, the brand says.

"Consumers are looking for hardworking products that simplify routines while still delivering visible results," Moroccanoil Global Ambassador Owen Gould said in the announcement. "The Overnight Leave-in Mask offers an easy, luxurious treatment that works while you rest, so you can wake up to healthier-looking, touchably soft hair."

What's in the formula?

The mask pairs three core ingredients:

  • Argan oil — rich in tocopherols (Vitamin E), essential fatty acids and antioxidants, to nourish the hair.
  • Supercharged hyaluronic acid — a blend of seven molecular weights of hyaluronic acid for hydration, softness and enhanced elasticity.
  • Vegan snail mucin — the bio-engineered K-beauty alternative that conditions, hydrates and seals the cuticle.

How should clients apply it?

Application is to damp or dry hair before bedtime, from mid-length to ends, with no rinse required. The brand specifies dosing by density and texture:

  • Fine hair: 1–2 pumps
  • Medium hair: 2–3 pumps
  • Thick or curly hair: 3–4 pumps

It also works as a daytime treatment, particularly on second- or third-day hair needing a hydration boost.

What did the consumer study show?

In a consumer study the brand cites:

  • 98% loved how easy the mask is to use
  • 96% agreed hair looks and feels healthy
  • 94% agreed hair has lasting smoothness
  • 94% agreed the mask is comfortable to sleep in

All performance figures are manufacturer claims tied to the company's own study.

Where and when can salons stock it?

Distribution begins with the Sephora app on August 27, 2026, followed by Sephora stores and Moroccanoil.com on August 28. Moroccanoil salons nationwide receive it September 1. From October 8, 2026, it widens to Amazon.com, Bloomingdale's, Bluemercury, Dermstore.com, Nordstrom, Revolve.com and Ulta.com.

The staggered rollout gives salon professionals roughly six weeks of exclusivity alongside Sephora before the mask hits mass prestige retail — a window worth planning around for retail recommendations and add-on treatment conversations this fall.
