Skin longevity will headline the technical and commercial programme at in-cosmetics Asia 2026, giving formulators a rare chance to compare the competing sciences, ingredients and formulation techniques now competing for the claim.

The commercial logic is firm. Mintel data shows 72% of Gen Z consumers in Thailand place high importance on taking proactive steps to protect their skin's future appearance. That figure is reshaping brand conversations around prevention, resilience and skin homeostasis — and, critically, around how longevity benefits can be measured over time rather than asserted.

The Bangkok programme puts those questions on stage. In the Marketing Trends Theatre, Rodrigo De Vecchi, Research Director at L'Oréal Research & Innovation, will present "The Longevity Revolution: From Medical Science to the Future of Beauty." In the Technical Seminars, Reza Jahangiri, R&D Manager and PhD candidate in Medical Biotechnology at Complife Group, will examine a three-layer approach to protection, resilience and wellbeing in a session titled "Decoding Beauty Longevity."

The ingredient floor will show how differently suppliers are defining the space. Bloomage will use Bioyouth-SPG Schizophyllan Gel to explore skin homeostasis. Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant will approach longevity through the skin's biological pathways with its LightYears concept. Sethic will focus on the microbiome, using ingredients developed through fermentation.

For product developers, the value lies in comparison. Seeing these routes side by side — homeostasis, biological pathways, microbiome — lets formulators judge what each could offer their own products rather than treating longevity as a single trend or claim.

Practical technique gets its own venue. The Formulation Lab, sponsored by Personal Care Magazine, will run live sessions where visitors practice methods in real time. Ephyla will demonstrate barrier-care formulas using NSL Biomimetic Pickering Technology. IMCD will present high-naturality longevity skincare manufactured via a cold process — a formulation route with clear implications for energy costs and heat-sensitive actives.

The show runs at BITEC, Bangkok, from 3–5 November and will bring together more than 770 exhibitors alongside speakers from L'Oréal, Unilever, P&G, Euromonitor International and the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC). Attendees will be among the first to see new ingredient launches, hear findings drawn from more than 800 research papers and test formulations spanning skin longevity, multisensory beauty and fragrance.

The programme also covers regulatory pressure points, including Indonesia's incoming halal requirements — a compliance issue with direct sourcing consequences for brands selling into Southeast Asian markets.

Sarah Gibson, event director at in-cosmetics Asia, said: "What visitors consistently value about the event is the opportunity to compare those ideas and innovations in one place. As the most international personal care ingredients show in APAC, in-cosmetics Asia brings together a diverse community from across the region and around the world, giving visitors the chance to see new ingredients, experience formulations and hear directly from the experts developing the science."

Registration is complimentary until 1 November, giving formulators and brand teams three weeks to secure free access before the paid window opens.
