Salvatore Minardi Salon has reached 25 years in downtown Madison, New Jersey, and the Borough marked the milestone with a proclamation presented by Mayor Robert Conley honoring the owner's professional accomplishments, charitable work and long-standing support of the town.

Conley framed the anniversary as more than business longevity. "This is also really 25 years of your dedication to Madison, because whatever happens here, you are there supporting it," Conley said. "We greatly appreciate you joining the Madison family 25 years ago and being such a treasured part of this."

Salvatore Minardi opened the salon in Madison in June 2001, carrying a family tradition in professional hairdressing that dates to 1956, when his parents entered the industry. Across nearly five decades in the beauty business, Minardi has built a record that extends well beyond the chair, focusing on professional education, leadership and mentorship.

According to the proclamation, Minardi is involved with Intercoiffure America Canada and currently serves as a World Talent Exchange Ambassador. He has also provided educational opportunities to young cosmetologists at the Morris County Vocational School, a pipeline for the next generation of New Jersey stylists.

The proclamation highlighted the salon's emphasis on personalized service and its philosophy of "creating today's beauty," crediting its longevity to the trust and loyalty of generations of clients.

Minardi's contributions have extended beyond the salon floor. Through his membership in the Rotary Club of Madison, he has supported local and charitable causes, including Madison school organizations, Drew University, veterans organizations, international charities and the Carmine Toto Foundation. His community service has earned him Project Pride's Harold P. Higgs Award and the Italian Tribune's Humanitarian Award.

The proclamation also recognized the salon's response during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting its efforts to adapt operations while continuing to serve clients safely — a test few independent salons navigated without lasting damage.

Conley credited Minardi's wife, Joyce, his salon team, and the many clients and community members who have supported the business throughout its 25 years. "This is just the tip of the iceberg of the people that truly appreciate everything you've done for Madison," the mayor said, as members of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, clients and other supporters joined Minardi for the presentation.

Accepting the recognition, Minardi said Madison has become far more than the location of his business. "Madison has been and is so much more than a home of my business," he said. "It has been a community of friendships, kindness, and support."

He thanked fellow business owners, neighbors and clients who have supported the salon throughout its history, and addressed his guests directly. "To the wonderful salon guests, thank you for your loyalty and trust," Minardi said. "Being part of your lives, sharing your stories, and helping you feel your best has been one of the greatest joys of my career."

Minardi also recognized his salon team and paid tribute to his parents, whom he credited with providing the foundation for his career. He thanked his daughter, Alessandra Marie Minardi, who helped him find and renovate the salon before becoming a hairdresser herself and working alongside him for 10 years. He also recognized his brother, Carmine; sisters, Paula and Mary; and their extended families, before offering special thanks to his wife.

"You have been my rock, my inspiration, and my greatest source of encouragement throughout our marriage," Minardi told Joyce. "You believed in my dreams and helped me bring them to life."

He closed by thanking the mayor, council, Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and the wider community for supporting him across the past quarter-century. "It's been a privilege to serve this community," Minardi said, "and I look forward to continuing our work of creating today's beauty, inside and out."
